GLBIMR Student’s participated in 4th National Summit on “Skilling India for Global Competitiveness Preparing Industry 4.0 Workplace” on September 12, 2018
GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research students are provided with numerous platforms to groom themselves, learn and explore. Corporate Interface Series (CIS) is one of the most successful corroboration of the same, initiated under the guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and stewardship of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR. Students of PGDM Batch 2017–19 students got an opportunity to participate in 4th National Summit on “Skilling India for Global Competitiveness”on September 12, 2018 (Wednesday) at Constitution Club of India, New Delhi organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry on the theme “Preparing Industry 4.0Workforce”.
The student got the opportunity to learn from the insights of prominent Keynote speakers including Mr. D K Aggarwal, Vice President, PHD Chamber, Mr. Kamlesh Vyas, Partner, Deloitte India, Mr. Veer Sagar, Chairman, Selectronic India, Dr. Sandhya Chintala, Vice President NASSCOM and Dr. Vinnie Jauhri, Director, Education Advocacy, Microsoft.
The main objective of the visit was to sensitize the students about skills required for future in the era of Industry 4.0 and impact of disruptive changes on skill sets. With increased automation, robotics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, there is disruption in technology, businesses and society which is impacting job roles. In this arena, sustainable job creation will no longer be about white?collar or blue?collar jobs, but about ‘new?collar’ jobs.
The event successfully added to the learning experience of the students making them more confident in public speaking and interacting with senior guests, Business Leaders & Entrepreneurs. This CIS activity updated them about the Technology, Innovation and global best practices for industrial skills.
