2nd Startup Summit 2020 (Panel Discussion II - Social Entrepreneurship: Societal Impact through Innovative Initiatives)

GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research. PGDM Institute, Greater Noida organized 2nd Startup Summit 2020 on “Creating New Opportunities, Building Partnerships & Inspiration: Atmanirbhar Bharat” on Saturday, November 07, 2020 under the patronage of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions.

The Guest Speakers of the summit were Mr. Vishal Ganju, Founder - Twenty Five Cents Networks (bookmyspares.com) & click4fabric.com; Mr. Sujit Kispotta, Director - Fake Free India Foundation; Ms. Reema Malhotra, Director Projects - Love Care Foundation and Mr. Chandan Kumar, Founder Director - Craft Ur Career Education Pvt. Ltd.

During the session, the Guest Speakers shared their viewpoints:

Mr. Vishal Ganju shared that technology had played a pivotal role during this pandemic. He suggested entrepreneurs to focus on innovation and take risks while building a company. He also shared that it’s the right time for startups as the government had extended its full support for their development.

Mr. Sujit Kispotta stated that social entrepreneurs had emerged as a global phenomenon. He shared that fake products had been rampant in India. Approximately 60% of milk and its products were adulterated and many other products were also fake. He also stated that by 2025, Fake Free India aimed to reduce the use of fake products by 25%.

Ms. Reema Malhotra shared that Love Care Foundation (LCF) provided opportunities to the underprivileged children and gave them education and health care facilities. She also shared that LCF had adopted 4 schools in which more than 1000 volunteers helped the children to learn computers and other skills. She added that the foundation had constructed toilets in the villages and also provided health care services to the poor people.

Mr. Chandan Kumar discussed the problems of the society which could be solved by innovative products and India provides huge opportunities in this particular space. He also encouraged the students to come forward and join social entrepreneurship passionately to become successful entrepreneurs in the future.

Around 300 participants from Industry and Academia participated in the event. It was a thought provoking session which gave a new perspective to understand various aspects and also enhanced the knowledge of the participants.
