Guidelines for the Events

NOTE: Every participant must bring their College ID Card with them, without ID card participant is not allowed to participate

GROUP EVENTS

1. ALAAP (GROUP SINGING)

  • Only one team can participate per institution consisting of maximum 12 participants.
  • Time allotted for each performance is 3 minutes.
  • Participants will not be allowed to refer to the lyrics while singing.
  • The participants will be judged on the song selection, voice quality, clarity, rhythm and their appeal with the audience.
  • The participants should bring their own musical instruments if required in the performance.
  • No karaoke is allowed to play.
  • Choice of song is open to the participants but the song should not have any slangs or derogatory language.

2. JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM

  • Only one team can participate per institution.
  • Maximum number of participants in a group must not exceed 12 members, including coordinators.
  • Time limit is 5 minutes for each performance.
  • Choice of songs is open to the participants but the song should not have any slangs or derogatory language.
  • Participants must bring the CD or Pen Drive of song or Instruments with self in which they have to perform.
  • No props will be provided by the coordinators. Participants can carry their own props.
  • Students/ participants are requested not to wear revealing costumes.
  • The participants will be judged on the basis of their rhythm, formation, synchronization, expressions, and costumes, makeup, setup and overall effects.
  • It will be the responsibility of the participating college to remove their sets, property, etc. within 2-3 minutes after their performance is over.

3. ANDAAZ APNA APNA (SKIT/PLAY OR NUKKAD NATAK)

  • Only one team can participate per institution.
  • A team can have maximum 12 members. (Including participants, choreographer and coordinator).
  • Time limit for every team would be 6-8 minutes (Including setup and the performance both)
  • Theme selection is open to the team. It should reveal a social issue, and should clearly illustrate the message as well.
  • Teams are free to use props in their act of performance. No props will be provided by the coordinators.
  • Recorded music is not allowed, folk instruments like dholak, dhapli can be used.
  • No offensive language/ words against any specific person, Indian Constitution, religion or caste is allowed during the performance, doing such results in direct elimination.
  • Teams will be judged on Storyline, Use of props, Use of space provided, Impact factor, narrative technique and costume.

4. ANDAAZ-E-LIBAAZ

  • Only one team can participate per institution.
  • A team can have 12- 15 members. (Including participants, choreographer and coordinator).
  • Time limit for every team would be 6 minutes (Including setup and the performance both)
  • Theme selection is open to the team.
  • A green room would be provided for the changing purpose.
  • Should carry their tracks in C.D Or Aux, USB.
  • Vulgarity is strongly prohibited. Any form of obscenity will lead to debarring the team from the contest
  • Teams will be judged on costumes, theme, walking stance and attitude.

DUET EVENTS

5. ALAAP

  • Only one team can participate per institution consisting of two participants.
  • Time allotted for each performance is 3 minutes.
  • Participants will not be allowed to refer to the lyrics while singing.
  • The participants will be judged on the song selection, voice quality, clarity, rhythm and their appeal with the audience.
  • The participants should bring their own musical instruments if required in the performance.
  • No karaoke is allowed to play.
  • Choice of song is open to the participants but the song should not have any slangs or derogatory language.
  • The prize would be for the team and not individual.

6. DAZZLING DOUBLES (DUET DANCE)

  • Only one team (two members) can participate per institution.
  • Time allotted for each performance is 3 min.
  • Students/participants are requested to maintain the decorum of the event.
  • Choice of song is open to the participants but the song should not have any slangs or derogatory language.
  • Participants must bring the CD or Pen Drive of song or Instruments with self in which they have to perform.
  • No props will be provided by the coordinators. Participants can carry their own props.
  • Students/ participants are requested not to wear revealing costumes.
  • The participant will be judged on the basis of their Costumes, Props used, Expressions, Choreography, Coordination/ synchronization, Interpretation of the theme/ Originality of the idea
  • It will be the responsibility of the participating college to remove their sets, property, etc. within three minutes after their performance is over.
  • The prize would be given to team and not individually.

7. JUNK YARD (ART FROM WASTE)

  • Only one team (2 members) can participate per institution.
  • Participants should not exceed the time limit of 60 minutes
  • Only Waste material can be used for the purpose of this competition.
  • Other than waste material, Glue, Fevicol other adhesives, Pins & colors can be used to enhance & give finishing to Art work.
  • All the required material has to be brought by the participants themselves, nothing will be supplied by the institute for the same.
  • Judges reserve the right to disqualify any art work if the major material used is not waste material.
  • Participants are not allowed to bring any structure partly or fully made; all the art works are required to be prepared only during the allotted time.
  • Criteria for judgment will be Creativity, Strength of the Product, Utility value of the product, Quality of Finish.

8. RANGREZZ (RANGOLI MAKING)

  • Only one team (2 members) can participate per institution.
  • Participants have to create a rangoli using theme of their choice.
  • Dry colors are only permitted
  • Participants are not allowed to use paints, flowers, diyas, etc.
  • Rangoli has to be made by hands and no tools are allowed in it and in any form.
  • All other required material should be arranged by the participants themselves. However, use of any reference such as greetings or printed material/picture, in miniature form or otherwise, should be avoided
  • The maximum time duration will be 60 minutes and the rangoli area per team will be 3X3 feet.
  • Criteria for judgment will be Overall appearance and appeal, details and clarity in the design Colour combination, Innovativeness

9. SPLASH (T-SHIRT PAINTING/ FACE PAINTING)

  • Only one team can participate per institution.
  • A team will consist of 2 members only.
  • Participant should carry their own plain T-shirts without any sketch or drawing.
  • Participant should bring a person along (whose face will be painted)
  • Participants have to carry their own materials like color, brush, palette etc.
  • The maximum time duration will be 60 minutes.
  • Theme will be given on the spot.
  • The judging criteria will be based on Use of the theme to create awareness, Innovative designs/Creative, Concept Originality, Visibility: T-shirt/Face should be eye-catching and visible, Completeness: Does the design look professional & complete.
  • This is considered under individual event category

INDIVIDUAL EVENT

10. DIRECTOR’S CUT (SHORT FILM MAKING)

  • Only one individual can participate in this event.
  • It is a full day event.
  • The participant has to click the photographs and prepare a short-film capturing major events from the inaugural till the last event of the fest-Sankalp -2k18.
  • Movie making competition is about the art of using Photography not Photoshop. If someone found using any kind of photo editing application, the candidate will be disqualified immediately.
  • Participants should carry their own cameras and laptop.
  • The length of the film cannot be more than10 minutes.
  • Photographer’s name, photo title, date of photo and other text must not appear on front of entry.
  • The judging criteria will be based on content, idea, creativity, clarity, use of technology and quality
